The Men's Earthrise Hooded Jacket is a warm and comfortable insulator from Mountain Equipment. Ideal for general outdoor use; wear alone on cold, dry days or under a waterproof shell when rain is due. Fair Wear Foundation

The FWF Code of Labour Practices contains eight elements, which are based on United Nations and International Labour Organization principles:

  • Employment is freely chosen
  • There is no discrimination in employment
  • No exploitation of child labour
  • Freedom of association & the right to collective bargaining
  • Payment of a living wage
  • No excessive working hours
  • Safe & healthy working conditions
  • Legally-binding employment relationship

FWF regularly verifies the implementation of these labour practices through factory audits and worker interviews both onsite and offsite, and through annual ‘Brand Performance Checks’ which assess how well each member’s management policies support the Code of Labour Practices. FWF publicly reports on the progress of member companies towards implementation of the Code elements.

PFC-Free

Per- and polyfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) are a family of human-made, fluorine-containing chemicals. They have long been used to add water and stain repellent properties to technical fabrics. PFCs can harm the wearer of the garment and damage nature. Incredibly resistant to breakdown, these pollutants have been found across the globe; they can remain in the environment for many years after release. In response, a growing number of PFC-Free products are being developed, designed to provide reliable water repellency without the use of these harmful chemicals.

Recycled

Patagonia first made a fleece from recycled plastic bottles in 1993, since then more and more brands have been ‘recycling rubbish’ to make the high-performance clothing and equipment that we all love to rely on in the outdoors. There are now many different types of materials and products made from waste that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
